The reader activates only when your pet puts its head into the frame and blocks an infrared sensor. Simply approaching will not open the lid.

Why won't my pet's microchip pair with the feeder?
Confirm your pet has a compatible 15-digit ISO microchip. Fully charge and unplug the feeder before use. Keep it at least 1 m (3 ft) away from power adapters, outlets, and electronics, as interference may reduce the reading range.

Can I use the microchip feeder while it's charging?
We recommend using it unplugged. Some power adapters may interfere with microchip recognition and reduce the reading range. Fully charge the feeder, unplug it, and keep it at least 1 m (3 ft) away from outlets and electronics.

What if the RFID tag works but my pet's microchip doesn't?
If the included RFID tag works, the reader is likely functioning normally. Unplug the feeder and move it at least 1 m (3 ft) away from outlets and electronics. Also confirm your pet has a compatible 15-digit ISO microchip.

Why does my pet seem to need to reach deep inside before the lid opens?
Your pet does not need to reach deep inside. After an infrared sensor is blocked, the feeder takes about one second to scan the microchip and open the lid. During this delay, your pet may move forward naturally. With practice, it will learn to wait.

Cautious pets may need time to become comfortable with the feeder's sound and lid movement. Follow the step-by-step training guide and let your pet adjust at its own pace. Some pets may need several weeks, but can use it confidently once familiar.
