  • What are the upgrades in the 2nd Gen Video Doorbell compared to the 1st Gen?

    Supports both battery and wired power. Battery mode lasts up to 10 months. Upgrades include anti-tamper alerts, voice-changing two-way talk, enhanced smart detection, and Qualcomm Micro-Power Wi-Fi technology for improved efficiency and stability.

  • Does it include a Chime? What types of Chime are supported?

    No Chime is included. It works with existing mechanical chimes and supports Reolink Chime Plus (sold separately). It can also ring via the Home Hub or Google Assistant.

  • Does the Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) support pre-record and 24/7 continuous recording?

    Yes. With 16–24VAC power & Wired Power Mode, the doorbell supports pre-recording and 24/7 recording. Full 24/7 recording saves only to microSD card in standalone use. When connected to a Home Hub or NVR, only motion-triggered recordings are saved.

  • Will my existing indoor mechanical chime still work in Wired Mode?

    Yes. In Battery Power Mode, a compatible mechanical chime can ring normally. In Wired Power Mode, keeping the mechanical chime active requires the RLA-PK1 Power Kit, sold separately. Using the included jumper cable bypasses the mechanical chime.

  • What is Rich Notification? Is a subscription required?

    Rich Notifications send image alerts to your phone. A free plan is available in the Reolink app (up to 25 alerts per day). Paid plans offer more notifications and GIF support. App version 4.52+ required.
